Praxis Announces Uruguay as Location for Planned $1 Billion Investment at +Colonia, With First Residents Expected in Mid 2027
The planned waterfront community will pair exceptional residences and hospitality with a new model for funding art and culture through the wealth created by artificial intelligence.

COLONIA DEL SACRAMENTO, URUGUAY — September 22, 2026 — Praxis today announced that it has selected Uruguay as the location for its first city-scale development, with its first phase at +Colonia and plans to mobilize $1 billion in investment over the next three years. The first residents are expected to move in mid 2027. The community will bring together exceptional homes, hospitality, and cultural institutions, designed for a future shaped by artificial general intelligence.
Praxis selected Uruguay for its natural beauty, political and economic stability, strong democratic institutions, and the opportunity to build alongside an established local community and development partner. +Colonia, a waterfront urban development adjoining Colonia del Sacramento, provides the setting for the first phase. The project’s ambition is to connect international investment and talent with Uruguay’s creative life, enterprise, and enduring appeal as a place to live.
Praxis’s ambition is to bring the architectural care, privacy, and intuitive service of the world’s finest resorts to everyday life. The vision for the residences centers on generous proportions, natural materials, carefully composed landscapes, and a close relationship to the waterfront. Dining, wellness, and hospitality are intended to be integral to the community, with the same attention given to the experience of living there as to the homes themselves.
The planned investment program would support residences, infrastructure, hospitality, and spaces for cultural and commercial activity. As the project develops, Praxis aims to create opportunities for Uruguayan construction workers, hospitality professionals, suppliers, and creative businesses. Priorities for local collaboration include workforce training, participation by Uruguayan artists and architects, and relationships with educational and cultural institutions. Specific programs will be developed with local partners as planning advances.
